Gamgee Gets Number 2500

Sunday, May 8th, 2022: Petunia Gamgee was bubbling over with joy, celebrating her 2500th hit in the Dead Marshes 15-2 victory over the Royals at Royals Stadium.

The 36-year-old third baseman achieved that milestone with 2 hits in 4 at-bats to join the exclusive 2500-hit club.

Her manager said, "Petunia plays the same every day and every inning -- with all her heart. That's why she's such a special player."

Lifetime Gamgee has played in 2519 games with a .271 batting average. Among her 2500 hits are 477 doubles, 20 triples and 437 home runs. She also has scored 1340 runs and driven in 1453 runs.
