Royals Announce Deal for Veteran CL

Sunday, February 6th, 2022: Surprising some observers, the Rivendell Royals announced the signing of 37-year-old Niara Smoothflower today. The contract runs for 2 years and is valued at $9,600,000.

Smoothflower was described as "experienced" by club officials and former teammates, who apparently expect her to contribute as much in the clubhouse as she does on the field.

Smoothflower has posted 60 victories and 64 defeats since she first came into the league. She has appeared in 840 games and been credited with 312 saves. In 983.1 innings she has 857 strikeouts and a 3.47 ERA.
