Another Big All-Star Win for the Shire

Tuesday, July 6th, 2021: After last year's 11-3 victory, the Shire Conference was looking for more, and they got it, pounding out 16 hits and a 6-run 7th inning to defeat the Mordor squad, 10-5.

The Mordor team started off strong with homers by Isengard's Ragnar *Stonecutter and Sarukh *the Indefatiguable of Dead Marshes putting them up 3-0 in the first inning. But an RBI single by Bucklebury's Huugdish Nosejuggler in the bottom of the inning closed the gap a little.

In the 2nd, Mordor got their run back with a monster homer from Dunharrow's Freodriel Eärémbor...which was followed by another Shire run when Mablung *Véneanár of Mirkwood plated Rivendell's Foundling *Goodbody with a hit.

The Shire tied the game at 4 in the third inning with a 2-run shot off the bat of Old Forest's L. Rhond *Hubbard, and that's how it stayed until the sixth. In the top of the 6th, Isengard's Glomli of Erebor homered to give the Mordor squad its last lead of the night.

In the bottom of the 7th, the Shire bats came to life as they scored when *Hubbard tied the game again with an RBI single, followed by a 2-run single by *Goodbody, a 2-run double by Wart Wolfgobber of Old Forest and a run-scoring triple by *Véneanár.

Rivendell's Pedro Gonzales picked up the win, while Isengard's Frohil Anebrildur got tagged with the loss. L. Rhond *Hubbard was named Player of the Game.
