Royals Elfplate Suffers Injury
Friday, May 8th, 2020: The Rivendell Royals were dealt a severe blow when Mundin Elfplate was hurt throwing a pitch recently in a game against the Old Forest Merry Fellows. After the game, the team trainer reported Elfplate might have to spend a lengthy time on the disabled list. Today doctors confirmed it, ruling the 37-year-old starting pitcher out for the rest of the season with bone chips in his elbow. They indicated it would take Elfplate at least 5-6 months to heal.
This season to date, Elfplate has fashioned a 3-4 mark and 5.08 ERA in 56.2 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .265 against him and he has logged 73 strikeouts.
