*Squishmasher Career Ended by Major Injury

The expression on his face said it all when shortstop Loopy *Squishmasher was injured running the bases today in a game at Royals Stadium against Bywater. You could tell that this was no minor injury. *Squishmasher was examined quickly by the team doctor and immediately rushed to the local hospital. After several tests, the diagnosis was a fractured knee, and in this case, it means his career is over.

The Rivendell Royals issued the following statement: "It is with great sadness that we see Loopy ending his career due to injury. He was a great competitor and teammate and will be missed by the Royals organization."
*Squishmasher is 37 years old.

So far this season *Squishmasher has hit .335 with 13 home runs, 52 RBIs and and scored 56 times.
