Dragons Chill Knifecrawler's Hot Streak
The Isengard Raiders lost to the Dol Guldur Dragons 5-2 on May 6 at Orthanc Stadium, but perhaps the bigger news was the end of Merilmir Knifecrawler's record-tying 28-game hitting streak.
"We felt if we could slow down Knifecrawler, we would win the game," the Dragons manager explained after the game. "They really seemed to feed off of his streak, so we really wanted to make sure they had nothing to feed off of."
This season Knifecrawler is batting .434 with 49 hits and 6 home runs. He has scored 19 times and has 28 RBI. His 28-game streak tied Disil Axesmith's in-season record set in 2005.
