Royals Crowned Shire Champs
In their first Two Towers Series, the Rivendell Royals defeated the defending league champion Bywater Bounders in 5 games. They did it with a combination of timely hitting and excellent pitching, which has been the hallmark of the resurgent Royals team.
In Game 1, the number 9 hitter, catcher Goreathor Tandir, who hit .205 with just 8 HR, swatted a game-winning 2-run homer to start things off.
A great pitching performance by the Bounders' Cristian Estrella in Game 2 knotted the series at 1 game apiece.
In Game 3, veteran Denaumir Deneadur gave another nice performance through 6.2 innings before giving the ball to a bullpen trio that allowed just a walk and no hits the rest of the game. The Royals won 4-2.
Game 4 saw the team captain, Loopy *Squishmasher, step up with a mighty grand slam in the 4th inning to power the team to a 7-1 win.
Finally, Rivendell clinched their first Shire Conference championship with a 3-2 victory. Mundin Elfplate allowed 1 unearned run off 4 hits, striking out 9 in 5.1 innings.
