Bywater wins third straight Fellowship Series

Despite a Bree comeback that made Bounders fans reach for their antacids, the defending League Champion Bywater Bounders are headed back to the Shire Conference Two Towers Series.

Things looked easy for Bywater through the first 3 games. They won Game One 7-3, Game Two 4-2 and Game Three 4-3. They were poised for a sweep over the injury-plagued Cheese.

But Bree wouldn't go down without a fight.

In Game 4, in the 12th inning, Bundin Eowériand tripled home Grikak Spleenwhomper, and Filir Anvilhead then drove him home from third to avoid the sweep and win 6-4.

In Game 5, the Cheese put on a fireworks show, pounding out 17 hits and 19 runs to pummel the Bounders, 19-3.

But while many Bywater fans were in shell shock, the unflappable manager of the Bounders, Lidish the Horrible, was performing some baseball judo. Before he took the ball from Carl Green in the 5th, he asked Mosin Shieldbearer to "take one for the team." Lidish left Shieldbearer for 126 pitches and 13 runs, giving his bullpen a night off.

Finally, in Game 6, Glodunter Bromburg was handed a 7-0 lead through 4 innings, and despite giving up 10 hits and 4 runs in the later part of the game, he managed to nail down another Bywater trip to the Shire Conference Championships.
