Bucklebury C Takes Triple Crown
Scarlett *III is sitting on top of the world tonight. She got herself a Triple Crown this year -- the 1st player in SGCBL history to ever accomplish this feat.
The Bucklebury Fairies catcher outpaced the rest of the Shire Conference offensively this year. Scarlett, age 23, hit .379, collected 46 home runs and chipped in 135 RBIs for the Fairies. She led in all three categories to capture the Triple Crown, one of the rarer feats in baseball.
"It's all about hard work," noted one club official, "Scarlett arrives early, takes extra BP and really make a science of hitting. She religiously studies the pitchers. Keeps a journal on all of 'em. She's very thorough."
