Shute Bashes 3 HR for Rivendell
Three home runs in a game doesn't happen often. When it does it is something special to celebrate. And Dean Shute of Rivendell can celebrate it. He is now a member of the select group of players, who have hit three home runs in a single game. He powered three into the stands on September 4 at Shire Greens Stadium against the Old Forest Merry Fellows.
In all he was 3-4 as the Royals toppled Old Forest 9-3, knocking in 5 runs and scoring 3 times.
Shute told reporters after the game, "It's rare that you actually try to hit a home run. Most of the time you fail, if you really try to hit one. But today I tried on the last one."
His manager added, "He is blessed with a natural home run swing. He gets the ball up in the air."
D. Shute hit a three-run home run off B. the Cunning in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off B. the Cunning in the 4th, struck out in the 5th, walked in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off B. Celebrin in the 9th.
Currently Shute has 41 home runs and a .252 batting average.
